My promises and priorities to the residents of Magna
Low-Taxes
Magna became a city in 2024, giving us more control over our future than ever before, especially when it comes to how we manage your tax dollars. As your mayor, I’ll focus on transparency, smart budgeting, and making every dollar count. That means avoiding wasteful spending, protecting against unnecessary tax increases, and investing in what truly improves daily life: better roads, safer neighborhoods, and a cleaner, more livable community.

We can grow by focusing on the essentials, building strong partnerships, and pursuing grants and outside funding when it aligns with our priorities. But growth should serve the people who already live here, not come at their expense.
Defending Magna From Overdevelopment
Utah’s housing shortage has sparked rapid development across the state, and Magna is feeling the pressure as urban sprawl moves west. I oppose unnecessary or unpopular development and support responsible growth only when absolutely necessary. Our focus should be on preserving and improving what we already have, not building just for the sake of expansion.

To protect our community’s character and quality of life, we must prioritize strengthening existing infrastructure, supporting local businesses, maintaining roads, and enhancing public services. Growth should benefit the people who already call Magna home, not displace them or change the town’s identity.

If development is needed, I will make sure it moves forward with community input and in a way that respects Magna’s size, heritage, and values. I will work closely with city planners, public works, and local leaders to protect the future we share.
Citizen Input
I believe in governing with the consent of the governed. That means every decision we make should reflect the voices and will of Magna’s residents. To strengthen that connection, I will explore new ways for people to share ideas, raise concerns, and engage with city government both online and in person. One option I would like to pursue is creating an open, accessible platform on the city website where residents can contribute feedback, participate in community polls, and see what matters to their neighbors.

This will not replace traditional town halls or face-to-face conversations which remain essential. But by expanding the ways people can participate on their own time and terms, we can make city government more transparent, inclusive, and responsive to the people it serves.
Transparent Government
Transparency means knowing where decisions come from and where your money goes. As mayor, I am committed to making city operations open and easy to understand. That starts with sharing budgets, contracts, and major decisions in plain language for everyone to see.

I also want to pursue a live, line-by-line spending dashboard on the Magna city website so residents can track how funds are allocated and spent. Building this kind of tool takes careful planning, collaboration with city staff, and the right technology, but I will work hard to make it happen. Starting with clear, accessible financial reports, we will move toward real-time transparency that puts control and information directly in your hands.

No guesswork, no fine print, just honest, accountable government you can trust.
Public Safety
Our police officers and first responders put their lives on the line every day to keep our community safe, and they deserve our full respect and unwavering support. I will be a strong advocate for ensuring they have the training, equipment, and personnel necessary to respond effectively and protect everyone in our city. Public safety is a shared responsibility, and by investing in our first responders, we strengthen the entire community’s well-being and trust in law enforcement.
Roads and Infrastructure
I’ll push for responsible action on roads, improved street lighting, and aging water and sewer infrastructure — with clear timelines and full funding transparency. Because staying within budget is my top priority. I will focus our resources where the need is most urgent, based on safety, long-term cost savings, and community impact. I won't make unrealistic promises to fix every infrastructure issue overnight, but I will ensure that the work we do is done right, on time, and within our means — with no surprises and no overspending.
Supporting Magna’s Students and Their Future
While mayors don’t have direct authority over school districts, our city still has a vital role to play in supporting student success and safety. I will work closely with schools, city planners, and local law enforcement to regularly review all things related to their safety, such as improving crosswalks, traffic patterns, and school safety patrols. Our students deserve safe, reliable access to their education—and I’ll make sure the city does its part to provide it.

Beyond safety, I believe in investing in the future of Magna through support for high-quality education and enriching after-school programs. Children are the heart of this community and the key to its future. That’s why I will champion programs and events that not only support academic achievement but also promote characteristics such as integrity, grit, empathy, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic. These aren’t just personal traits—they’re the foundation of strong neighborhoods and a stronger future.
Support for Local Businesses
As a small business owner, I’ve seen firsthand how Magna has kept unnecessary regulations at bay and built a community where local entrepreneurs can thrive. I’m committed to preserving that environment. By continuing to support small business growth, we’ll strengthen our local economy, expand access to quality services, and keep Magna a place where families and businesses grow together.
Cleanliness & Community Stewardship
Magna should reflect the pride we have in it. I will make sure our streets, parks, and public areas are regularly cleaned and properly maintained because a clean city is a safer, more welcoming one. Cleanliness is about taking care of what we all share. I will support efforts that keep our community looking its best and make sure city services follow through on the basics we all expect.
